Welcome to the official Web site  of the Virgin Islands Port Authority.  The VI Port Authority (VIPA) is a semi-autonomous agency that owns and manages the two airports and the majority of the public seaports in the United States Virgin Islands - a territory of the United States of America. We are also charged with maintaining the harbors in the territory.

Our mandate is to promote the wise use of these facilities for the betterment of the U.S. Virgin Islands and its people, and to assist our government and our community in fostering and sustaining sound economic development. More.

Since February 9, 1969, the Virgin Islands Port Authority has been a critical arm of the economic engine of the United States Virgin Islands. Our ports connect the territory to the Caribbean, the United States and countless international destinations.  We have consistently developed our ports to ensure that visitors, commuters and cargo to our island communities keep moving.

The brave men and women of the Law Enforcement Officers unit secure our port facilities to ensure the safety of our travelers and our tenants. Find out more about our security and parking regulations at our ports, obtain security forms/passes and other important security information.

The public relations office is your point of contact for all things related to the Port Authority.  Our staff is available to provide the public and the media with information about port projects, events and initiatives.  Media inquiries, requests for VIPA documents and photos, facility tours, donations, ceremonies and other public functions are all coordinated by our public relations department.

We have had a long lasting and close relationship with our truck drivers. Many of them run routes from the East Coast while others run routes up into Canada starting from St. Thomas VI. We have many major cities where our truck drivers pass by including: Los Angeles, CA ,Brentwood Ca .Chualar Ca, Cathedral City Ca, Lancaster CA, Philadelphia, PA, San Diego Ca, Perris, CA ,Orville CA, St. Thomas VI,St.Croix VI, San Clemente, Woodbine IA, Chula Vista,Riverside and many more

We Offer 3 Car Shipping Services:

Door-to-Door Car Shipping to St.Thomas VI -

Door to Door car shipping is optional. Upon receiving your quote, you can let us know where the car is to be shipped. We can ship a car to any house in St. Thomas VI. Many people prefer this car shipping method because it doesn’t take up the whole day. The customer can sit back at home and watch TV until the delivery truck arrives. The picture below illustrates a typical home delivery in regular neighborhood. Home deliveries are by far the most efficient form of car transport for the customer. As long as there is sample room in the street, our transport truck drivers will not have a problem picking up or dropping off a caR

Open Transport Truck

This is normally the cheaper method because we are able to fill up the transport trucks to max capacity. This helps reduce the fuel expenses by splitting up the cost among 9 to 10 cars. It is a very safe car shipping method. Many of our transport truck drivers, who ship cars to St. Thomas VI and other states, run routes using an open transport truck like the one shown to the right. Also many car manufactures and dealerships use open transport trucks. It’s normally the most cost efficient. Types of car shipped using this method are sedans, minivans, and some luxury cars

 Producing GREEN Energy

The Virgin Islands Port Authority has constructed one of the largest solar energy panel systems in the U.S. Virgin Islands at the Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas to help reduce the airport's monthly utility costs.  This project was made possible through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding from the VI Energy Office.
